Frank A. Cuoco, MD

Dr. Frank Cuoco is currently the co-director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and the Director of Cardiovascular Outreach at HCA Trident Health in Charleston, South Carolina. Prior to this, he served as an Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiology and specializes in Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. During his tenure at MUSC, he served as both the Director of the Electrophysiology Lab and Operations and the Section Chief of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.

He completed his undergraduate BS degree in Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Boston University. Following this, he received a prestigious Whitaker Fellowship, which funded his graduate work in BME at Case Western Reserve University.

After receiving his MS degree in BME, Dr. Cuoco sought to put his background in electrical engineering and biomedical modelling of ion channels and cell membranes into hands-on practice by pursuing a career in medicine. While completing medical school at Georgetown University, he also obtained his MBA with a focus in healthcare finance and economics. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University, then moved to Charleston, where he completed a 2-year Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at MUSC.

Dr. Cuoco enjoys applying the basic science principles and problem-solving skills he developed in his BME studies to the complex physiology associated with the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms (a.k.a. arrhythmias). Dr. Cuoco’s clinical practice focuses on the treatment of arrhythmias, including catheter ablation, structural heart procedures (including left atrial appendage closure), and implantation of pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and other heart failure devices.

Dr. Cuoco’s research focuses on novel techniques and technology for catheter ablation procedures, as well as left atrial appendage closure devices and other cardiac diagnosis procedures. He has been among the top enrollers and proceduralists internationally across multiple clinical trials, including those involving pulsed-field ablation technology. He serves as a consultant and advisory board member for multiple biomedical technology companies focused on treating heart rhythm disorders.

Jose Osorio, MD

Dr. Jose Osorio, a renowned board-certified electrophysiologist, leads The AFib Clinic in Miami, which is dedicated to advancing treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib) and other heart rhythm disorders. With specialized training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a leadership role in HCA Florida, Dr. Osorio is recognized globally for his groundbreaking work in AFib ablation, pulsed field ablation, and patient-centred electrophysiology care.

 Dr. Osorio has introduced advanced methods that enhance the safety and outcomes of AFib ablation. He pioneered zero-fluoroscopy AFib ablation and developed High-Frequency Low-Tidal-Volume (HFLTV) ablation techniques, eliminating patient exposure to X-ray and improving procedural precision and outcomes. These innovations have been widely adopted and have become the global standard, improving safety in AFib procedures. Dr. Osorio has personally trained over a thousand physicians worldwide, both virtually and in person, on these techniques, strengthening patient care across borders.

As the President and Founder of Heart Rhythm Clinical and Research Solutions, LLC and 3PH Alliance, Dr. Osorio is dedicated to enhancing healthcare quality across the nation. Through the 3PH Alliance, he leads a learning collaborative that promotes evidence-based practices in AFib ablation and quality improvement across partner centers.

Dr. Osorio is internationally recognized for his commitment to improving quality and clinical practice within electrophysiology. His contributions have been acknowledged by the Heart Rhythm Society, which developed educational programs based on his model at Grandview Medical Center. For over 8 years, Dr. Osorio has championed a team-based approach focused on safety, efficiency, and outcomes for AFib ablation.

Dr. Osorio is a prolific contributor to the field of cardiac electrophysiology. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles on atrial fibrillation, AFib ablation, and cardiac rhythm disorders. His research is regularly published in leading medical journals and has been cited widely by the medical community.

Dr. Saumil Oza, MD, is a cardiologist in Jacksonville, FL, with over 23 years of experience in medicine. Dr. Devi G Nair, MD, FACC, FHRS, is the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Division at St. Bernard’s Heart & Vascular Center, Jonesboro, Arkansas. Dr. Nair completed her medical training at the University of Kerala, India, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, St. Luke’s Roosevelt Campus, New York. She completed her Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowships at Case Western Reserve University’s MetroHealth Campus. Her clinical practice focuses on heart rhythm disorders, including atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, bradycardia, heart failure, and their treatments, including cardiac ablation, pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy devices, and left atrial appendage occlusion therapy.

Dr. Nair’s research interests include evaluating fluoroscopy-reduction techniques in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac resynchronization therapy. She also has a major focus on the quality of life and healthcare outcomes, particularly in atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac death. Dr. Nair is actively involved in teaching residents and fellows and has received several teaching excellence awards, including the Golden Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Nair has won the People’s Choice award for the best cardiologist in Jonesboro for the last 5 years in a row.  Dr. Nair has served as the Chair and Vice-Chair for the Heart Rhythm Society Membership Subcommittee in 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017, respectively. She serves as the physician chair for the annual St. Bernard’s Health and Fitness expo, which brings health screenings, community education, and preparticipation physicals for athletes, providing these services free of cost to thousands of people residing in Northeast Arkansas. She is on the governing board of the Arkansas chapter of the American College of Cardiology. In addition to her clinical and research practices, she is well-published and actively participates in multiple cardiac electrophysiology clinical trials.

Jayson Brower, MD, is a board‑certified physician specializing in Interventional Oncology, Interventional Radiology, and Vascular Radiology. He serves as President of Inland Professional Services, where he leads multidisciplinary clinical teams and advances image‑guided therapies that improve patient outcomes across the region.

Dr. Brower completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego – Revelle College, followed by medical training at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his internship at the University of California, San Francisco, residency in Diagnostic Radiology at UC Davis, and fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

His clinical work focuses on minimally invasive cancer therapies, complex vascular interventions, and innovation in procedural radiology. Dr. Brower is committed to expanding access to advanced interventional care throughout Washington and the Inland Northwest.

Parag J Patel, MD

Parag J. Patel, MD, MS, FSIR, is a Professor of Radiology and Surgery in the Division of Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served as President of the Society of Interventional Radiology (2022-23). He is currently Vice Chair of Education for the Department and is the Program Director for the Interventional Radiology Residency at MCW. Dr. Patel has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences and has authored several book chapters in Interventional Radiology.  He serves on the Board of Directors for the VIVA Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the field of vascular medicine and intervention through education, research, advocacy, and collaboration. He has participated in numerous clinical research projects and national trials. His areas of interest include evaluation and endovascular treatment of peripheral vascular disease, complex aortic disease, venous disease, and embolization therapies.

Interventional Cardiology

Dr. Arthur Lee graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He attended medical school and completed his Residency at Mount Sinai in New York City. He stayed in New York City, where he completed his Fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. Lee joined the Cardiac & Vascular Institute in 2005, holding board certifications in Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiology and Internal Medicine. He is ASH certified, making him one of TCAVI’s five Hypertension Specialists. His areas of clinical interest also include Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular Disease (both the arterial and venous systems), Critical Limb Ischemia and Orbital Atherectomy. Dr. Lee is TCAVI’s Director of Peripheral Vascular Services and a Diplomate of the American Board of Vascular Medicine.

In addition to his many publications and articles, Dr. Lee is highly engaged in TCAVI’s cardiovascular research efforts, being the first in the world and the U.S. to enroll patients into groundbreaking clinical trials. Outside of the office, Dr. Lee enjoys reading, fishing and spending time with his family.

Vishal Gupta, MD

Dr. Vishal Gupta is a clinical professor of medicine at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and an interventional cardiologist at Beacon Kalamazoo Medical Center (formerly Borgess Hospital). He serves as Board Member, Chairman of Medicine, Co-Chair of the Beacon Kalamazoo Heart Institute, Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and Co-Chair of the Heart Institute Governance Council, and participates in executive physician leadership bodies, including the President’s Council and Medical Staff Leadership Council. He also directs advanced training programs as Fellowship Director for the Advanced & Structural Heart Program and Co-Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.

Dr. Gupta earned his medical degree from Bangalore Medical College and completed an M.P.H. in Epidemiology and Research methods at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He trained in internal medicine at Michigan State University and cardiology at the University of Missouri-Columbia and completed advanced fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in interventional cardiology, alcohol septal ablation, and vascular diagnostic and interventional medicine.

Dr. Gupta established the region’s Structural Heart Program and introduced multiple first-in-region technologies, including transcatheter valve therapies and complex structural interventions. He has driven quality and efficiency initiatives across the cath lab and authored 45+ peer-reviewed publications, serving as a principal investigator in multicenter trials. He has held leadership roles in the American College of Cardiology Michigan Chapter and served as President of the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin (AACIO). A committed innovator for several decades, Dr. Gupta holds 14 patents across medical and non-medical devices. He is Founder, President, and CEO of Anchor Balloon, Inc., developing Angiolock—a device that enables precise coronary stent delivery to target lesion sites (www.anchorballoon.com). He serves on multiple medical advisory boards, including that of an AI company, and on the boards of the Kalamazoo Art Institute and Four Kids from Michigan (4KFM).

Vascular Surgery

Ross Milner, MD, is an internationally recognized expert in vascular surgery. He specializes in the treatment of complex aortic diseases.

Dr. Milner has been the primary investigator on numerous endovascular device trials. He is the co-national principal investigator for the GREAT registry. He examined the use of remote pressure-sensor monitoring for surveillance after endovascular aortic aneurysm repair as part of a research fellowship he completed at the University Medical Center of Utrecht as the Marco Polo Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery. Since that time, he has been involved in numerous studies evaluating endovascular devices for both thoracic aortic disease and abdominal aortic aneurysms.

A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Milner teaches medical students, residents and fellows about vascular disease management, including the use of aortic stents. He has received numerous awards for his teaching. In addition, he is frequently invited to speak at national and international conferences on vascular surgery and aortic aneurysms. He has been recognized as the first master clinician of the Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence.

A prolific author, Dr. Milner has written more than 100 abstracts and manuscripts, as well as more than 20 reviews and chapters in leading textbooks on endovascular therapies. In addition, he serves on the editorial boards of several prominent scientific journals, including The European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular SurgeryVascular Disease Management, and Endovascular Today, and reviews manuscripts for many peer-reviewed journals, such as the American Journal of Surgery and the Journal of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Koen Deloose, MD, is a leading Belgian vascular surgeon, researcher, and educator known internationally for his expertise in endovascular surgery and vascular medicine. He graduated magna cum laude from the Catholic University of Louvain and completed his surgical training in Belgium before joining AZ Sint‑Blasius Hospital in Dendermonde in 2002.

Since 2004, Dr. Deloose has served as Medical Director of the CLI‑Wound Clinic, and in 2016, he became Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery at AZ Sint‑Blasius. He is also a Board Member of the Royal Belgian Society of Vascular Surgery, contributing to national standards in vascular care.

A respected figure in international education, Dr. Deloose is the Founding Course Director of the Paris Vascular Insights conference and Co‑Founder of the i‑MEET meeting in Nice, France. His commitment to innovation extends to medical device development through his ID3‑Medical team, which works across the full spectrum of design, testing, and post‑market evaluation.

Dr. Deloose is a prolific academic contributor, with over 100 peer‑reviewed publications and more than 10 book chapters in vascular, orthopedic, and endovascular fields. He has delivered over 750 lectures worldwide and regularly performs or moderates live endovascular case demonstrations at major global meetings, including LINC (Leipzig), CICE (São Paulo), and VIVA (Las Vegas).

Venita Chandra, MD

Dr. Venita Chandra is a board-certified vascular surgeon. Her research and clinical interests include limb salvage, technology development, and optimizing treatment for complex open and endovascular approaches to peripheral vascular and aneurysmal disease.

Dr. Chandra graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in genetics and cell biology from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She then earned her medical degree at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. At Stanford University Medical Center, CA, she completed a General Surgery residency and chief residency, a Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship, and a Biodesign Innovation Fellowship in the Department of Bioengineering and Medicine. She joined the faculty at Stanford in 2013.

As the medical director of the Stanford Advanced Wound Center and founder of the Stanford Extremity Preservation Program (StEPP), Dr. Chandra has substantial expertise in cutting-edge peripheral vascular and limb-salvage techniques. She works to optimize patient management and educate residents, fellows, and colleagues in this complex field.

Dr. Chandra has authored more than 95 articles and reviews in peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed journals as well as many book chapters. She has presented her work around the world at many regional, national, and international conferences and symposia. In addition, she holds several patents from her entrepreneurial work.
